Re: Critical link missing in Syrian housing bid, Oak Bay News, March 23, 2016
At my Oak Bay subsidized accommodation, we frequently receive entreaties from people desperate for housing.
One especially heartbreaking application came from a mother with a disabled 19-year-old son soon to be homeless. Unfortunately, as a seniors’ complex, we could not help them even if we had had a vacancy which we seldom do. Shouldn’t our neighbours have priority?
Let’s take care of our own before we reach out to the world.
