Well done

Visitor pleased with how locals embraced a high school reunion

On May 27 and 28, students from 1965 to 1968 from North Peace Secondary School in Fort St. John gathered at the Vernon Atrium Hotel to celebrate 50 years since graduation for the class of 1966.

It was attended by 150 former students, 20 spouses, seven former teachers and one former principal.

Though most of us live throughout B.C. and Alberta, several came from as far away as Wyoming, Colorado and parts of Eastern Canada. Many of us have known each other since elementary days, something unique in today’s transient and social media oriented society. Many hadn’t seen each other for the 50 years since graduation.

Special thanks needs to be given to the management and staff at the Vernon Atrium who exemplify the phrase, “service with a smile.”

Thanks also to the Vernon Information Centre for its donation of bags and pamphlets which were most helpful for shopping and walking trips.
