Each Thompson-Nicola Regional District electoral area director receives discretionary funds every year approved by the TNRD board of directors.
These grants are for non-profit agencies or societies in good standing, being examples of appropriately organized community groups undertaking activities for the betterment of the community. Grants are intended to fund specific projects or events that provide a broad benefit to the community.
The area director makes the final decision on who receives funding.
The following are the 2017 recipients who applied for and received grants from Area A (Wells Gray Country):

• Vavenby Trails and Rec – Halloween
• Legion – Volunteer Appreciation
• Wells Gray Curling Club –Love Where You Live bonspiel dinner
• Clearwater Food Bank – Xmas Hampers
• Legion – Remembrance Day wreath
• Aboriginal Success by 6 and NTAC – Breakfast with Santa
• Kamloops Disc Golf Club (tournament organized by Dennis Greffard)
