We’ve got a new look at the Chronicle

Over the last few weeks we’ve been thinking of ways to make the news and ads in your paper stand out

We hope you enjoy the redesign of your Chronicle.

Over the last few weeks we’ve been thinking of ways to make the news and ads in your paper stand out, and make it easier for you to get into your weekly read. The result, we think, has made a good thing better.

Some of the changes will be obvious. The new version is cleaner, with more white space to make things stand out, and better definition of each story through the use of subject headers to give you a cue about what’s below.

Overall the changes will give the paper a more modern look, and make for a more pleasing read.

What hasn’t changed is our commitment to covering community news in a thorough and timely manner; and providing advertisers with an effective means of reaching clients and customers.

The redesign follows a shift from Tuesday to Wednesday publication, which we made in March; along with a switch to free home delivery in the Ladysmith area.

We are always looking for ways to improve the news and how we present it. In the coming weeks and months we will be making changes to our online edition. As a Black Press newspaper we are excited by some of the initiatives and opportunities that will be announced soon.

We are also interested in what you have to say about the Chronicle. News is a conversation. That’s what we’ve learned after many years covering events and activities in your community. Editor Craig Spence and Publisher Teresa McKinley know that the better we listen, the better able we are to serve readers and the community at large.

If something’s happening you think people should know about, call 250-245-2277 or email editor@ladysmithchronicle.com. If you have something to add to something we’ve published – or want to let people know about something we’ve missed – send a letter to the editor. If you’d like to tell us how we can improve our coverage in any area, let us know.

We’ve changed the look of the Chronicle; what hasn’t changed – and what our new look represents – is our ongoing commitment to serve our readers and advertisers with the best publication we can produce.

That’s our thanks to you.
