Wildfire response

Resident praise the emergency personnel that responded during summer blaze

Several months have passed since wildfire broke out in our subdivision overlooking Kalamalka Lake.

As we carry on with our lives, how grateful we are to still be living in this lovely environment. That may have all changed for some of us had it not been for the prompt and intensive assault of that fire.

We are enormously grateful to the Ministry of Forests, Fire Protection Branch, and all of the firefighters for their swift response and skill in getting the fire under control.

We are also grateful to God that there was no wind that night.

A huge thank you to each and every person (Ministry of Forests, firefighters, RCMP, other emergency services) who played a part in dealing with this fire and for the work you do in our communities daily.

What a terrific team of highly trained people you are. We applaud your courage and determination.
