Worth remembering

A thank you to all those who came out to mark Remembrance Day on the North Island.

Dear editor:

On a recent bright morning under sunny skies the Remembrance Day ceremony was held at Carrot Park.  It was a great turn out this year and on behalf as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion I would like to thank everyone who took the time out of their busy lives to come and participated in the act of Remembrance. To see all of the different groups of people who attended both young and old makes me glad to consider myself a citizen of Port Hardy.  Many thanks to the paramedics who provided such excellent first aid to the two people who were in need during the ceremony.  We do hope that they are feeling much better now.

The Ladies Auxiliary would like to send a great big thank you to Craig and his staff at Overwaitea and Pat from the Old School House Store for their generous donations to our open house luncheon which was held at the Legion after the ceremony and to which all adults that attended the ceremony were invited. It sure was nice that so many people were able to attend.
