Wrong location for Langford’s first dog park

'Dogs were banned from school playgrounds because many owners were not responsible for picking up their excrement'

I am all for a dog-leash-free park but Langford just renovated Glen Lake Park for children, moving the school playground there and adding a bathroom. Unleashed strange dogs can be scary for children, not to mention some can be dangerous, especially when not controlled by their owners.

Dogs were banned from school playgrounds because many owners were not responsible for picking up their excrement. Now that same issue will plague a new playground and sand beach designed for children to run barefoot.

Dogs should have a place to play and roam free in Langford. However it needs to be a place not already designed for children to play and feel safe.
