Wynndel resident apologizes for complaining about noisy neighbours

(Re: “Wynndel resident wants neighbours to make less noise”)

I owe the good people of Wynndel a great big apology. I apologize for trying to make a point and sounding bitter about choosing Wynndel as my home. For this I am truly sorry. Someone remind me never to run for politics (the last thing I would ever consider). I love Wynndel and the people that live here as it has been one of the friendliest places I have ever been.

I would also like to apologize for plucking on my banjo, as I should have known it would not be well tolerated by some. Bagpipe and accordion players run into the same problem. All sounds are not noise. For instance, the train is one of the enduring sounds in the valley. Twice a day, the sound of the train echoes in the valley, and to me it is reassuring that all is well. It has a very melodic sound to the whistle.

Also, the sound of Wynndel Box and Lumber is very reassuring — the sound of commerce. Many Wynndel families depend on that company for their livelihood. The sound of construction in the village is also reassuring that all is well and progressing.

But the sound of lawnmowers, whipper snippers and leafblowers after a long day was not enjoyable, compounded by the cool, rainy spring giving way to days a person could enjoy this beautiful valley on the deck in the evening was too much for my feeble mind. I lost it and wrote a letter to the editor that I will regret till my dying day.

Please understand I am only human and made a grave mistake that I am truly sorry for. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
