Zen teacher will miss Creston pastor’s column

Shelley Stickel-Miles has such a down-to-earth real-world approach to Christianity, says letter writer Kuya Minogue...

To the Editor:

I notice in her latest column that Shelley Stickel-Miles is leaving Creston and that her Opening to Grace column will be discontinued. I will miss reading her column, as I am sure her congregation will miss her. She has such a down-to-earth real-world approach to Christianity, and I enjoy what she has to say about how a spiritual tradition can inform the decisions we make about every detail of our lives. She, and her words, will be missed.

I wish her a wonderful and fulfilling retirement in Japan that continues to deepen her understanding of her religion.

Kuya Minogue
