Eileen King put in a lot of practice early in the season and it has certainly paid off now that summer has arrived.

“There was some ‘hot stuff’ happening on the golf course, and I don’t just mean the weather, which happened to be in the 30s,” 108 Ladies Golf Club vice-captain Gloria Corno says about Ladies Day on July 17.

Thirty-one women turned out despite the heat to test their skill for the long drives, long putts and closest to the pin (KP).

First flight

Annie McKave hit the long drive, Judy Scarrow had the KP and Carol Ohlund sank the long putt.

Juliette Morete won the par pot and the birdie pot was carried over.

Second flight

Maureen Pinkney pounded out the long drive, Gisela Neuber put her ball closest to the pin and Shelly Larson canned the longest putt.

There was no birdie pot because no one scored a birdie and the pot maxed out, so there was an extra par pot draw. Larson and Ann Pinkney both got par-pot prizes.

Third flight

Corinne French hit the long drive, while Sharon Claassen (by draw) had the KP and

Eileen King sank the long putt.

Gloria Corno (birdie) and Lynn Smeds took the par pots.
