The Annual Terry Fox Run once again boasted a solid turnout on Sunday with a combined number of 68 participants walking, running or riding.
There were two start times with an early 10 a.m. run in the morning and a second starting at 1 p.m. in the afternoon. For organizer Andrea Nikkel, it was a great success once again.
βIt ended up being a pretty good turnout even with the wet and chilly weather in the morning,β she said. βA big part of the success is of course due to the volunteers who make this event possible and this year we had 11 people volunteering throughout the day.β
Local MLA Doug Donaldson who usually participates also had the honour of starting the first run off this year.
In addition to the number of participants, Nikkel said more than $1,500 was raised for cancer research.
T-shirts were sold out locally but can still be available by going on line and the cost was $17 for an adult $15.
