Abbotsford’s Ryan Craig is officially going to his first-ever American Hockey League all-star game, and will be sporting the “C.”

Craig, a member of the AHL’s Cleveland Monsters, was named on Monday as one of two captains at the game, which takes place in Allentown, Pa., on Jan. 29 and 30.

He is in his 14th season as a professional, and has donned the C in Springfield, Norfolk, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Cleveland.

Craig, who was a key member of the Monsters Calder Cup championship team in 2015-16, has skated in 667 AHL games and has recorded 346 points.

He has also appeared in 198 games in the National Hockey League, suiting up for Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh and Columbus. He scored 63 points during his time in the NHL.

Craig was drafted in the eighth round of the 2002 NHL draft by the Lightning, and spent his time in junior with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League.

The 2000 W. J. Mouat Secondary grad played minor hockey in Abbotsford, starring for the Hawks.
