In Alberni Golf Club men’s club action on Sunday, the game of the day belonged to the duo of Craig Acland and Glen Trask. They each shot an impressive 73, which happens to be Trask’s age—great game, gentlemen.
Acland won first low gross by retrogression, followed by Colin Hamilton with 74.
Trask took top honours in the net category with a 63, while second low net went to Clark Crowe, shooting a 66.
Closest to the pin winners were Craig Acland on No. 2, Glen Trask on No. 4, Cliff O’laney on No. 13 and Terry Rai on No. 17.
Taking home the cash for the charity closest to the pin on No. 7 was Terry Rai. There were no money pot winners as all par-3s were halved.
A reminder that there is no men’s club competition this weekend due to the mixed tournament. The following Sunday, Aug. 16 is the Van Isle Ford Scramble. This event will be a four-man scramble, not a computer draw. Enter your own team and each team must have a minimum handicap of 50; no more than two team members can be a single digit handicap.
Each person must contribute three drives. The course will be altered, numerous holes will be shortened significantly and some lengthened. Tee location will be indicated at time of registration.
Total yardage will be similar to white tee distance.
Please register in the pro shop for the 8 a.m. shotgun start.
