Local resident, Cole Clifford has some great advice on offer for those looking to slim down and shape up.
Clifford has written a guide to nutrition and exercise that he says will benefit anyone of any age.
The self published book titled, “Changing you, your guide to a slimmer, stronger body’ was first written in 1990 when Clifford owned and operated ‘The Changing Room’ gym in Burns Lake. The book was written in response to his gym customers asking for advice on how to lose weight and rather than tell everyone individually he decided to put pen to paper and write a book.
After the gym closed two years later, the book remained. Since this time Clifford has added two chapters to the book and revised some sections adding in up to date information.
Clifford said his book differs from other diet and exercises books because it is short and written so that everyone can understand the information.
He added that weight loss can be quite a technical process.
Clifford said the nine chapter book is also versatile in that it can be helpful to those starting out on a weight loss journey, or for those looking to extend their fitness regimen and enter the world of bodybuilding.
Chapters cover topics such as supplements and vitamins, food combining [which food types should be eaten together], what to eat and when, as well as exercise tips and training principles.
Clifford said most people eat at the wrong times of the day. “You should eat like a king at breakfast, eat like a prince at lunch and eat like a pauper at dinner,” Clifford added.
