Airplane toss to raise funds for food bank

Wranglers, Tim Horton's team up for cookie campaign

Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign is taking to the air.

In an effort to raise money for the 100 Mile House Food Bank, the local Tim Hortons store has organized a 50/50 draw and an airplane toss at the 100 Mile House Wranglers Junior B hockey game on Saturday (Sept. 28).

The airplane toss will see sheets of paper imprinted with the popular Tim Hortons smile cookies sold at three for $5. Members of the public will then fold them up and toss them at a target at centre ice to win a prize.

It’s very successful and very well-supported by the community,” 100 Mile House Tim Hortons owner Steve MacPhail says of the annual campaign.

It’s unbelievable how this little community really rallies behind a cause. We’re off to a running start again this year. Cookies are flying off the shelf and we’re doing well.”

Game time is 7 p.m. at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre.
