The Alberni Armada girls’ basketball squad squeaked out a 56-53 victory over Ballenas on Friday to earn a berth in the championship final of Totem 63.

The Armada held the lead for the second half and were able to hold off Ballenas’ late-game drive for the win.
The Armada beat Kwalikum 38-29 in their opening game on Thursday and Ballenas beat Edward Milne 51-25 to advance to Friday’s final, taking place at 5:45 p.m. at the ADSS gym.
The Armada boys beat Edward Milne 67-49 in their first game Thursday night but lost 82-49 against Isfeld Secondary from Courtenay on Friday. Isfeld advances to the final on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The Armada boys will play at 4 p.m.
The Totem Spirit winners will be announced Saturday night as well.
