There’s lots of jokes out there about Mutt and Jeff.
Today’s golf was no joking matter, the format of “Mutt & Jeff” was taken very seriously by the ladies of the 18 Hole Division.
Each player had to turn in a “Mutt” score by totalling their Net score on all Par 3’s. The “Jeff” score was the total of their Net score on all Par 5’s. This was a separate score to be handed in by each player.
There were four “Mutts” tied for first place. Kathy White, Joan Thompson, Anna Marie Krikke and Pat Nicklin. A tie breaking draw was done to determine the winner and Pat Nicklin walked away with the prize. “Jeff” was taken by the one and only, Barb Sheare.
Low Gross score was carded by Janice Cross coming in with a 90 while Kathy White place first for the Low Net category with a 73.
Be sure to check the bulletin board in our lounge area for upcoming Tournaments…one big one is the Zone Am/Sr two day tournament to be held on May 17/18 at Eaglecrest. They’re looking for more players for this ever popular event…and Mt. Brenton is always a fun tourney with great prizes. That one will be coming soon as well.
There will be a gardening work-bee at the Golf Club on Wednesday, May 2…sign up by calling Sharien Williams through the Pro shop or get your name on the list which is circulating at the Club House if you can spare a little time and energy. Bring your own gardening tools and get ready to work those golf muscles on the flower beds!
In the meantime, bone up on the rule book…there will be challenging questions asked by the rules committee…player with the most correct answers on their quiz takes home a prize. Next week golf is followed by our monthly meeting. Golf will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Call Gayle Rhodes if you will not be playing.
