The Aldergrove Midget Bruins advance to the final championship game tonight at Kin Centre, after defeating tournament hosts Prince George 7-2 in the semi-final game Thursday morning.
It was Aldergrove’s fourth straight win at the B.C. Hockey Midget Tier 2 Championships, hosted by Prince George at the Kin Centre.
Aldergrove’s Jake De Waal had an impressive six point game, with three goals and three assists.
Ryan Bencze had a pair of goals and an assist, while Brodie Buchner had one of each and Dawsen Stone notched a goal and a pair of assists.
The Bruins led all the way, up 3-0 in the first period, 4-2 in the second and 7-2 at the final.
Keeper Kallum Dierkhising made 26 saves in the game.
The other two semi-finals teams are currently playing for their shot at the final game tonight. The contenders are Greater Vernon, which has won all three of their games, and Williams Lake, which lost to Aldergrove on day one and won their other two games.
The bronze medal game begins at 5 p.m., followed by the gold and silver match with Aldergrove at 8 p.m.
