Game three was quite a lopsided affair for the Aldergrove Midget Bruins over the Campbell River team with a 12-1 result, Wednesday afternoon.
It was Aldergrove’s third consecutive win at the B.C. Hockey Midget Tier 2 Championships, hosted by Prince George at the Kin Centre.
“Although the game was 3-1 after the first, we really started to gel after that, moving on to a 12-1 romp over Campbell River,” said team manager Lyall Sharman.
“All hats go off to Brody Buchner for achieving his 50th goal and 100th point when he scored one minute and 51 seconds into the second period. Assisting on Brodie’s milestone was Logan Favel. Great job, Bruins.”
Scoring for Aldergrove against Campbell River were Ryan Bencze, Caleb Boelema, Brodie Buchner (2), affiliate Jordan Digness, Dayton Edwards, Dawson Ivison, captain Tanner Myer (3), Shelvey Hudson and Dawsen Stone.
Assists came from Bencze, Buchner (3), De Waal (3), Edwards, Logan Favel (4), Ivison, Myer, Sharman (3) and Hudson (2).
The score was 3-1 in the first period, 10-1 in the second and 12-1 in the third. Dawson Calfa stopped 12 of 13 shots in the first 30 minutes in the net and Kallum Dierkhising stopped all 13 shots in his half of the game.
Next up, Aldergrove faces Prince George in the semi-finals Thursday.
