Fraser Valley League champions also have berth assured at National championships in October

Aldergrove Premier soccer men smile after they took their third victory in a row on Saturday to advance to the BC Soccer League’s provincial finals.

Aldergrove downed Westside FC 3-1 in the men’s Open A semi-final match on May 6 at Aldergrove Athletic Park.

Aldergrove had defeated Bays United FC 4-1 in game one and Vic West FC 4-1 in game two.

Fraser Valley League Champions, Aldergrove, progress to the Provincial Cup final, which is a big deal given that the last time the league was this close North Delta lost on penalties to Inter and then bolted for the VMSL themselves.

However, this season, the semi-final win carries more weight because a win qualifies the team for the Nationals, a tournament that the FVSL is hosting in October. B.C. is getting two berths, so a finals appearance makes Aldergrove the FVSL’s first ever entrant at a National Championship.

The B.C. finals are this Sunday, May 14 at Burnaby Lake West and Aldergrove will be facing the VMSL’s Club Inter for the provincial cup.

The Aldergrove Premier team is: Romano Bol, Joshua Brown, Nicholas Cantelon, Gavin Deacon, Manveer Dhillon, Josef Duben, Tha Taw Eh, Steve Gaffney, Jordan Hatchwell, Connor Hildebrandt, Nuno Jesus, Jasminder S. Kaler, Mitchell Kuemper, Daryl Kuemper, Perry Maghera, Nathanael MeierMax Morgan, Ko Ota, Sunny Pamma, Kyle Redekop, Sam Sinclair, Ben Vandergoes, Brett Weins and Joshua Young.

Aldergrove Premier coach is Rob Hildebrandt and Carly Stromsten is team manager.
