Anderson aims true

Guy Anderson collects hardware at North Okanagan Trap and Skeet Club's Honours Day Shoot.

Guy Anderson is one of the newest members of the North Okanagan Trap and Skeet Club, but he is already making a name for himself.

Competing in his first-ever registered shoot, Anderson won the last event (also the big event) – the Hank Dedish Handicap – at the club’s annual Honours Day Trapshoot last weekend.

The Honours shoot celebrates valuable members of the North Okanagan club by attaching their names to the trophies. The last living person they celebrate is Art Salt, and at 90 years of age, he is still a tremendous shot.

Salt won the D Class in the Rod McIndoe Doubles Marathon (395 of 500 targets) and the C Class in the Jim Britton Singles with a 97. He took down 822 of 1,000 targets to earn the D Class High Over All Pin.

Salt’s daughter, Lisa, won her first-ever High Over All Pins by going 916 of 1,000, and collected the Art Salt Trophy as the High Over All winner by shooting 735/800.
