The longest running triathlon in Western Canada is in need of a few more volunteers for the morning of Sunday, Aug. 3.
This year is the 35th annual running of the Self-Transcendence Triathlon and Duathlon at Elk Lake.
Participants show up as early as 5:45 a.m. to check in. The race starts when swimmers enter the water on Hamsterly Beach at 7 a.m. and wraps up following the award ceremony at 11:30 a.m.
Positions needed vary in their demand.
Volunteers are rewarded with a meal at the renowned Self-Transcendence’s Finish Line Cafe, known for its expansive breakfast spread, and a goody bag including a T-shirt.
In particular, there are still spots to fill on the cycling route of the race, which requires volunteers to be a minimum of 18 years old.
