The Mission City Outlaws are refusing to go down without a fight.
Mission has crawled out of a 3-0 series deficit, winning 3-2 in overtime on home ice on Tuesday, to rally back and make it a 3-2series lead for the Ridge Meadows Flames in the best-of-seven Pacific Junior Hockey League first round series.
Brody Dyck was the hero on Tuesday, scoring the winning goal just 14 seconds into the extra frame. The Outlaws trailed 2-0after two periods, but got goals from Kolby Steen and Bryce Pisiak in the third period to send the game to overtime.
The Outlaws outshot the Flames 49-33 in the win.
The game five win follows another 3-2 overtime win in game four on Saturday in Mission. The teams traded goals in regulationtime, with Sammy Zeinab scoring a shorthanded goal, and David McGowan putting the Outlaws up 2-1. The Flames tied thegame up with 61 seconds left in the third, but it was Pisiak who scored just 1:52 into overtime to give Mission its firstpostseason win.
Outlaws goalie Jeffrey Veitch made 23 saves in the game four win.
The teams are back at it for game six in Maple Ridge on Friday. Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
If the Outlaws win game six, game seven occurs on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. at the Mission Leisure Centre.
