Arena buzzing with hockey action

Peewees ice Lillooet

100 Mile Peewee Reps met Lillooet on home ice last Saturday at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre.

The lop-sided match saw 100 Mile leading 3-1 in the first period, then extending that lead to 6-1 by the end of the second period.

The game ended 11-3 for 100 Mile, with Emmett Collens scoring four goals for the winners.

Aidan Harding and Mason Johnson shared net-minding duties.

The Peewee Reps drew winners for their raffle draw on Feb. 3. First prize of a side of beef went to Bonnie Dodge, and the second prize of Kamloops Blazers hockey tickets, gas card and hotel accommodations went to Deanna Amundson. Del Wieb won third prize of a Canucks practice jersey.

On Feb. 18-20, the Peewee Reps will host a Peewee tournament at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre. Visiting teams are expected to come from Williams Lake, Prince George, Winfield and Penticton.

Peewee Girls go one for two

Donex Peewee Girls lost one and won one last weekend to Williams Lake in games played at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre.

Saturday’s match ended in a 3-1 loss for 100 Mile Donex, but on Sunday, the team was able to turn things around for a 3-2 win.

Melissa Linnell and Keyana McNeil each scored to create a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation time. In the shoot-out, Tanisha Davis scored the only goal to win it for 100 Mile.

This weekend, the Peewee Girls will be in Clearwater for a couple of games.
