Hockey season isn’t finished quite yet as 12 Atom division teams from Vancouver Island have hit the ice at Oceanside Place for a tournament, which started on Tuesday and wraps up today (March 19).
Early results from the tournament saw the Oceanside Hawks earn a victory, one of three Parksville Qualicum Beach teams in the mix over the three-day tournament.
Juan de Fuca has four teams at the tournament, while teams from Lake Cowichan, Port Hardy, Victoria, Nanaimo and Saanich are also in the mix.
Both the bronze and gold medal games are taking place today (bronze at 2:15 p.m. on the Victor Kraatz rink and gold at 2:30 p.m. on the Howie Meeker rink) and will see the top teams from pool A and pool B doing battle for bragging rights.
