The Grieg Seafood Atom A Tyees had a great weekend playing at home at the Atom A hockey tournament.

First game saw the Tyees tie the Saanich Braves 5-5.

The rest of the weekend saw the Tyees tie the Langley Eagles 5-5, they lost 5-3 to the higher-tiered Comox Valley squad, and, in the final game of the tournament, the Tyees doubled the Nanaimo Clippers 4-2.

The Tyees placed fifth overall and continue to improve. Player awards during the tournament were received by Fahey, Brendan Almer, Matthew Johnson, Sage Cameron, Jacob Hartley, Seth Parker, Noah Fladager and Damien Rennie.

Next up for the Tyees is a game against the Clippers in Nanaimo on Saturday. On Sunday, the Tyees host the Powell River Kings. Game time is 1:15 p.m. at Strathcona Gardens Rink 2.
