August long slow-pitch tournament brings out the heavy hitters

High fives all around for some good action out in the diamond.

The August long weekend slow-pitch tournament wound up with a 3 p.m. match Monday, August 6 between the Big Kahunas, a team comprised of locals and team Sting from Kelowna, with first place going to the Kahunas.

In third position were Trail’s Blasters, who were followed by Shut Up and Drink who came out all the way from Abbotsford to play in Nakusp’s tournament.

This year, the Hut and the Arrow Lakes Theatre sponsored the home run derby, upping the ante for the players who took part trying to knock balls out of the park. The winner hit 17 homersand took away $300.
