Hot off a regional tournament, the Qualicum Beach Lawn Bowling Club (QBLBC) is hosting a big provincial singles tournament this weekend.
Indoor bowlers from Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum Beach played together in a mixed triples tournament at the QBLBC last weekend.
“QBLBC games director, James MacDonald did a great job of putting together evenly matched teams resulting in an excellent competition enjoyed by both players and spectators,” said Meryl Yates, QBLBC advertising and marketing representative.
“Congratulations to Bob Findlay’s winning team of Bob Hayward and Lori Pross who took home the big cash prize.”
Martin Fereday’s team of Keith Alexander and Pat Reid were second.
Doug Ives, Helen Roberts and Marvin Barker took third place and Pam Coward, James MacDonald and Judi Ritchey finished fourth.
The club is hosting the big provincial men’s and ladies’ singles tournament this weekend with action running at the QBLBC’s indoor greens Friday and Saturday (8 a.m. to
8 p.m.) with finals on Sunday starting at 9 a.m.
