B.C.’ Pee Wee girls to challenge boys teams in Cloverdale

The girls are very excited to play on an all-girls baseball team after playing on boys teams for years.

It will be a game to remember this weekend in Cloverdale when B.C.’s Pee Wee girls baseball team faces off against the boys.

The team members – selected to represent B.C. at the Pee Wee Girls Western Championships only to see the event cancelled at the last minute – will finally get to play as a team.

These 10-to 12-year-old girls got to know each other during the Baseball BC tryout process.

They will be challenging the boys in the Cloverdale Spurs’ fall classic, Saturday at Cloverdale Athletic Park.

They’ll face a tough challenge, because they’ll be competing in a pool comprised of the Langley boys and the Cloverdale Red Fall ball team.

The girls play their round robin games at 11:45 a.m. against Langley, and at 4:45 p.m. against Cloverdale Sept. 15.
