The Walnut Grove Gators offence has been in high gear the past two games, scoring 90-plus points in a pair of victories.
The Gators defeated the Prince George Polars 97-54 on Thursday and followed that up with a 91-79 win over the Cowichan Thunderbirds at the B.C. 4A senior boys basketball championships at the Langley Events Centre.
The victories — which game after an opening round 83-76 loss to the Burnaby South Rebels — mean Walnut Grove will play Heritage Woods with the winner finishing ninth and the loser tenth.
The Gators entered the tournament seeded No. 11.
Against Cowichan, the seventh seed, on Friday morning, Walnut Grove jumped out to a 28-15 first quarter lead and never looked back in winning by a dozen points.
Tyler Anderson led the way with a monster game, scoring 35 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. He also had a blocked shot.
Bryce Derton (21 points, seven rebounds, three assist) and Tamar Alatrash (13 points, 12 rebounds) also hit double figures. And point guard Ty Rowell finished with nine points and 14 assists, as well as four steals.
