Justin Baillargeon helped his amateur buddies pocket Titlelist 910 drivers valued at $450 for winning the Rotary Pro-Am Monday at the Vernon Golf & Country Club.
Baillargeon, 26, also padded his bank account by collecting $500 in team payouts and another $850 by shooting 71 in the pro category, tying for third spot with Chris Hinton of Two Eagles in West Kelowna.
Adrian Wyant, Gerry Robinson and James Phair teamed with Baillargeon to earn a score of 120 in the two best-net format, There was a field of 25 teams.
Kelowna’s Robert Letvinchuk led his foursome to second place at 121 (Bushnell V2 Ragefinders worth $400), while Dale Machesny of Salmon Arm guided his team to third at 123 (Puma clothing priced at $280).
Greg Machtaler of Summerland took his group to fourth at 127 for TaylorMade R11 Rescue clubs, while Myles Johnson of Spallumcheen and amateurs Warren Fredrickson, Vince Lewis and Dylan Gardner were fifth at 127 for FootJoy Tour SS Rain Shirts worth $220.
Russ Latimer of Black Mountain in Kelowna ran his foursome to sixth spot at 127 for TaylorMade Ghost putters worth $180.
Lee Ranger of The Rise and teammates Tim Watts, Bruce Salamandyk and King Cam were seventh at 127, taking home Cobra T-Rail Bafflers priced at $180.
KPs worth a Titleist hat, glove and a sleeve of ProV 1s, valued at $77, went to Joe Bellamy on No. 3, Spencer Cole on five, Greg Wilstshire on 14 and Robinson on 17.
Josh Fleming of Gallagher’s Canyon in Kelowna topped the pro division with a 3-under 69, claiming $1,500.
Rob Anderson of Kelowna shot 70 to pocketed $1,000, while Johnson, Jesse Crowe of Canoe Creek in Salmon Arm and A.J. Eathorne of Predator Ridge shared fifth place with three others at 73, earning $467.
Machtaler’s gang topped the team skill competition on No. 1 with the closest shot to a stake 220 yards from the tee.
Cassidy Hritzuk of Kelowna and his team won the long drive on No. 2, while Dean Claggett of Two Eagles won the 150-yard trouble shot on the 16th hole and Cec Ferguson’s Vernon foursome won the long bunker shot on No. 18. Eathorne won the putting contest.
