The Vernon Canadians picked up a pair of weekend wins over Kamloops #2 in Bantam baseball.
The Canadians grounded Kamloops 15–6 in game one. Isaac Waldemaras doubled to centre field scoring Kaden Costigan and Rayne Good Water.
Vernon scored four in the fourth when Hayden Vardon ripped a single, scoring Noah Foufoulas. Vardon, Daymon Jassal and Kalvin Blaeser all swiped home.
Dex Elders singled an RBI in the fifth and Jassal followed suit with a sacrifice fly RBI and Blaeser iced it by cranking a two-run double to left.
Vernon was stellar defensively with Jassal hot at third base and Blaeser recording a few spectacular catches in the outfield. Daryl Bloor got the save, getting two groundouts and one strikeout.
Vernon edged Kamloops 9-8 in the second game.
Blaeser started on the mound for the C’s, going 3 1/3 innings with seven punch outs.
Bloor smoked a double to left field in the fifth to score Foufoulas.
Vernon’s bats came alive in the seventh inning as Ethan Sawka, Elders and Blaeser crushed RBI doubles.
