The fifth annual Bantam Fall Ball Classic was a huge success for the hosts, Aldergrove Minor Baseball Association, and competing players.
Richmond and Vancouver were the winners in the two divisions.
“We had 10 teams, which is unheard of for any tournament other than provincials,” said tournament organizer Darren Rock. “Also having two Aldergrove teams (Reds and Blues) playing in the same tournament has never been done before.”
In the Gold tier (top tier) Richmond beat Aldergrove Reds 3-1 in the final.
In the Silver tier (second tier) Vancouver Mounties beat North Shore 7-5.
Aldergrove Blues made the semi-finals in the Silver tier, losing to the Vancouver Mounties.
In all there were 28 games played over the seven days, Sept. 24-30, at Aldergrove Athletic Park and Abbotsford’s Townline Park.
