Bantam Seawolves go 1-1 in Burns Lake

The Seawolves play their final game on Feb. 3

The Bantam Rep Seawolves split games in Burns Lake on Jan. 20 and 21 against a tri-cities team made up of players from Houston, Burns Lake and Fort St. James.

The Seawolves were able to take an early 3-0 lead in the first game of their two game series on goals by Nevan Miller, Luke Rabel and Mitch Mann. The lead was stretched to 5-0 in the second as Miller added another goal with Xander Gerritson also scoring. The tri-cities team was able to score early in the third to cut into the Seawolve’s lead, but it wasn’t enough as Rabel and Nolan Stava added a goal apiece to put the game out of reach.

In the second game, Prince Rupert took another early lead as defenceman Mitch Mann scored a goal to give his team a 1-0 advantage at the end of the first period. The tri-cities pushed back in the second period to take a 3-2 lead into the dressing room, leaving them looking tired and disheartened. The Seawolves were able to get their game back on track in the third period but could not find a way to score the tying goal.

The 1-1 result leaves the Seawolves with a 5-2 record in the North West District with one league game remaining on the team’s schedule. They will play against Smithers on Feb. 3.
