The Quesnel Thunder bantam tier 3 hockey team is 2-1 at the provincial championships in Smithers and could secure a spot in the semi-finals with a win Wednesday morning when they face Nelson.
The bantam Thunder started the provincial championships with a 4-1 against Smithers Sunday evening and followed that up with an 8-3 win against Ridge Meadows Monday afternoon.
Tuesday afternoon saw the Thunder lose a heartbreaker, 5-4, to Dawson Creek. The Thunder tied the game at 4-4 with six minutes to play, but Dawson Creek scored the winning goal with less than two seconds to play.
