Win. Lose. Win. Lose.
That’s how last weekend went for the South Okanagan Minor Baseball Association bantam AA Tigers against the Mission Twins and Delta-Tsawwassen Tigers. On May 27, the Tigers defeated the Twins 10-8 and lost 11-10 in the rematch. The Tigers received great defence from Kaiden Skode, Ben Nelson and Luke MacIntyre. Coach Iain MacIntyre said Nash Bilenki had an overall tremendous game defensively and at the plate.
Their matchup with the Tigers ended with a lopsided 18-2 defeat after winning 9-8. Unlike the first game, the homeside struggled in containing the Tigers base runners.
The Tigers have eight wins and 11 losses in league play.
“We’re doing a lot better than what I thought we would do,” said MacIntyre. “They are really having a good year. They are really improving, which is nice to see. It’s fun to see them succeeding. The team overall is hitting the ball well and facing really good pitching.”
One of the players who had a strong weekend at the plate was Zach Annett.
