The Vernon Fix Auto Vipers spread out the offence as they opened Bantam Rep hockey tournament play in Abbotsford with a 3-3 draw against North Delta Friday night.
Bryan Brew opened Vernon’s account in the first period, assisted by Brett Zbytnuik. The Snakes, coached by Don Brew, took a 3-2 lead into the final period on snipes by Tanner Wright, from Zach Agar and Brew, and Gavin Fleck, from Griffin Evans.
North Delta replied with goals from Matthew Ovies, Matthew Burry and Adam Matthias.
In female Midget Tier 1 play, the Thompson Okanagan Lakers skated to a 1-1 draw with the Fraser Valley Phantom Friday night at Priest Valley Arena.
Trailing by a goal heading into the third period, Vernon’s Andie Kaneda collected the equalizer, assisted by Armstrong’s Tylee Cooper and Vernon’s Mairyn Tucker.
