Barriere Secondary hands out athletic awards

Three students recognized for their participation and commitment to high school sports

Barriere Secondary School’s Athletic Banquet held last month produced many happy young athletes who were recognized for their accomplishments during the school year.  Pictured (l-r) are Tyler Schilling, Jacob Peterson and Madison Kerslake, each having received a number of awards during the presentations.  Schilling received grade 8 Top Academic Male Athlete, and Grade 8 Male Outstanding Athlete.  Peterson received Junior Male Top Academic Athlete, Junior Male Outstanding Athlete and Most Valuable Player in Junior Boys Basketball.  Kerslake took home the Grade 8 Female Top Academic Athlete, the Grade 8 Female Outstanding Athlete, and was  a Track and Field Okanagan Champion in the Triple Jump.
