Vernon Minor Baseball is a host city for a pair of provincial team tryouts.

Tryouts for the 2015 B.C. Baseball 13U (Peewee) Select Team will be held at Creekside Park in Coldstream on Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, and tryouts for the 2015 B.C. Baseball 16U (first-year Midget) Select Team run on the same day, April 4, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Marshall Field.

Baseball B.C. says in the event of inclement weather, a notice for cancellation will be posted on its website – www.bcminorbaseball.org – no later than April 2.

Tryouts for both teams are also being held in Aldergrove, Richmond and Nanaimo. Players must supply their own bats, gloves, batting helmets and catcher’s gear for catchers.

In order to be considered for the team, players must register for and attend one of the tyrouts listed. Registration for one of the tryouts may be done on the Baseball B.C. wesbite by clicking on the ‘Register’ tab on the homepage.

A payment of $20 cash per player, paid on the day of the tryout, is also required. Further evaluation of Pee Wee players identified at the tryouts will take place at tournaments and games in May.

There will be 25 to 40 midget players invited to a three-day camp in the Lower Mainland June 25 to 27. Further information about final team selection, team practice and game dates, cost and travel arrangements will be provided at the tryouts.
