Bays boys finish fourth at provincials

Oak Bay team scores third consecutive Island title

Oak Bay Bays finished fourth in the province last weekend.

They started the 4A senior boys basketball competition strong with a 92-64 win over Pinetree last Wednesday and a 74-52 defeat of W.J. Mouat on Thursday.

They fell in the semi final 86-74 to Kelowna who finished second in the tournament to Walnut Grove. They beat Holy Cross 58-46 Saturday to finish fourth.

Jaden Touchie was named first team all star.

Earlier this month, the Bays made a clean sweep of the senior basketball Island titles with a convincing victory over host Belmont, Feb 25. It was Oak Bay’s record 22nd Island basketball title and third straight for coach Chris Franklin and the Bays.

 

First team all stars included Isaiah Romanow, Caelen Scott and Diego Maffia and MVP went to Touchie.
