NVSS in Vanderhoof fall sports in full swing as at-home games started.

From frosty mornings to earlier nightfalls, the fall sports season is in full swing as October arrives for NVSS’s student athletes.

 

Sr. Girls Volleyball

Placing 23rd out of 32 B.C. teams in a recent invitational tournament hosted by Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, the senior girls volleyball team will be leaving town again from Oct. 9 to 10 to compete in UBC.

The team will also be hosting 12 teams across northern B.C. in a regional competition from Oct. 23 to 24.

 

Jr. Girls Volleyball

Having played against Fraser Lake at the first home game on Oct. 1, the junior girls volleyball team will next play host on Oct. 19, against Northside Christian School.

 

NVSS’s cross-country team played host to nearly 100 athletes from the region — including Burns Lake, Smithers, Quesnel, and Prince George — at the second race of the season on Oct. 3 at the Nechako Valley Sporting Association’s grounds. Next race will take place at 10 Mile Lake near Quesnel on Oct.17.

A Viqueen braced for a bump at the Gr. 8 girls volleyball team’s first home game in Vanderhoof on Sept. 30, playing against Fraser Lake Elementary-Secondary School. The grade eight girls will play their next home game on Oct. 14 against Fort St. James Secondary.
