Colton Beck was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association rookie of the week after a multi-point weekend.
Beck, a freshman left-winger for the Alaska Nanooks, scored twice and added an assist in a 5-1 victory over the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves last Friday.
He followed that up the next night with a shootout goal the next night in helping the Nanooks retain the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup for in-state bragging rights between the two hockey teams.
The 20-year-old Beck, who played his junior A hockey with his hometown Langley Chiefs, has four goals and 12 assists in 34 games.
