The Ravensong Breakers will be entering 24 of their swimmers at the PCS Wavemaker meet in Victoria this coming weekend.
The event will take place April 27-29 and will be hosted by Pacific Coast Swimming at Saanich Commonwealth Place.
Three Breakers competed at last weekend’s Western Canadian Championships, where 14-year-old Nicholas Bennett broke the national record in his para-category in the 100-metre and 800m freestyle events. Jakob Brager, 15, and Jakob Mbobela, 14, also competed.
Kennadie Sheppard, 10, competed at the Far Western Short Course Championships in Santa Clara on April 5-8 and made the finals, finishing 11th in the 50m free and 12th in the 50m breast stroke. Sheppard also competed at the VPSC Jessica Deglau Invitational at UBC and finished first in the 50m free and the 100m backstroke, second in the 100m free and ninth in the 100m breast.
At the BC Tier 1 Age Group Championships in Penticton, March 9-11, Sheppard finished first in the 50m free, third in the 200m back and the 100m free, fourth in the 200m back and the 100m breast, seventh in the 400m free and eighth in the 200m free; and Lochlan Rogers, 12, swept to wins in the 50m free, 200m individual medley, 100m free, 200m free, 200m breast and 100m back.
Bennett, Mbobela, Brager and Jack Confortin, 16, competed at the BC Tier 2 Age Group Championships in Kamloops, March 2-4.
Bennet finished fifth in the 800m free, seventh in the 1500m free and 10th in 200m free; Mbobela was 5th in 50m free, 6th in 100m free and 10th in the 200m IM; Brager was fourth in the 200m back, sixth in 100m back, seventh in the 400m free, eighth in the 200m free and ninth in both the 200m and 400m IM; and Jack Confortin was fifth in the 1500m free and the 800m free.
