Bennison wins provincial 3,000

A Grade 9 athlete running as a junior, Bennison clocked in at nine minutes, 56 seconds. Taryn O’Neill of George Elliot in Winfield was second in 10 minutes, 20 seconds

The senior girls’ 3,000 winner finished in 10 minutes, 10 seconds.

Trinity Hansma of Len Wood Middle School in Armstrong was fourth in the Grade 8 girls high jump, while Jared Sexsmith of the Charles Bloom Timberwolves in Lumby placed fifth in the junior boys high jump.

Tyra Gilbert of the Pleasant Valley Saints in Armstrong placed seventh in the senior women’s 100 hurdles, while Claire Oordt-Bosman of the Seaton Sonics was ninth in the Grade 8 girls 800.

 

Chris Loland of the Kalamalka Lakers finished 10th in the junior boys javelin and 11th in the high jump, while Mack Moody of PVSS was 13th in the senior boys 3,000 and 14th in the 1,500.
