Berarducci brings home bronze at B.C. Summer Games

Bulkley Valley Otters’ Luke Berarducci will be bringing home some impressive hardware from this year’s B.C. Summer Games over the weekend.

Berarducci won bronze in the boys 100 metre butterfly behind Michael Mitchell from Vancouver who won silver and Austin Phillips from Kamloops who won gold at the three-day event in Nanaimo between July 17-20.

He also competed in five other races, including the boys 200 metre individual medley and the boys 100 metre breast stroke where he came in fourth; the boys 100 metre freestyle where he finished seventh; and the boys 400 metre individual medley and the boys 100 metre backstroke, where he also finished eighth.

Telkwa’s Grace Allen barely missed the podium, placing fourth in the girls pole vault.

In athletics, Smithers’ Hannah Pow finished seventh in the girls 800 metre race and eighth in the girls 1,200 metre and Evan Doyle finished 12th in boys javelin.

Nolan Yee from South Hazelton finished 15th in the boys 1,200 metre and 11th in the boys 1,500 metre steelpechase.
