THE FATHER-SON team of Mike and Terran Berger captured the 2013 Glacier Greens Men's Club Shoot Out.

Threatening skies greeted the 84 players as they teed it up Sunday, June 23 for the final day of the 18th annual Glacier Greens Men’s Club Shoot Out.  Fortunately the rain stayed away until the tournament and prize presentations were finished.

The dreaded alternate shot was the format for the last day and the father-son team of Mike and Terran Berger came from behind with a solid, even-par round 71 and finished in first place with a three-week score of 205 and four shots ahead of last year’s winners, another father-son team Bob and Jeff Edwards who finished with 209.

Next at 212 was Rob Borland and Steve Peters followed by Bud Bryan and Bruce Coulter at 213. Fifth place gross went to Jim Larocque and Stan Mills at 215.

On the net side Bob Marshall and Nick Stolarchuk finished first with 177.5, half a point ahead of Joe Dunham and Adrian Haut at 178. Don Marchand and Rick Verbeek were third at 180 and another father-son team of Jim and Clint Perry finished fourth at 180.5. Fifth place on the net side went to Elmo Guinan and Jack Jackson at 181.

All the participants were treated to a fine baked ham lunch and a visit to a well-stocked prize table. The tournament committee thanks the weekly KP sponsors Scott Fraser (Royal LePage), Gary Weibe (Boston Pizza), Gary Wood (Slegg Lumber) and Bill Kelly (Bill Kelly Golf).

A huge thank you to Bill and his Pro Shop staff for their continued support and assistance and a special thanks to club member Lee Johnson who once again donated a hand-painted framed picture to the Memorial Bridge fundraising project.
