Beth Granstrom of the Revelstoke Aquaducks set the standard for every athlete this past weekend at the Okanagan Regional Swimming Championships in Kelowna.
Although finishing in first place is nothing new to Granstrom, on the weekend she also broke the Okanagan record in each of her four individual events and is a clear medal favourite for the upcoming provincial championships.
Joining Granstrom, finishing first in each of her events, is Emily Pfeiffer who also broke the Okanagan record for fastest 50m butterfly with a 30.56.
The Okanagan records came crashing down again with Nadia Salon impressing the crowd in her 100m butterfly.
Several other Aquaducks swam to gold medal finishes and are also in the hunt for provincial medals: James LeBuke lead the way for Aquaduck boy swimmers, snagging three golds and a silver.
Young Alex Jay continues to impress and improve as he won gold in the 100m freestyle.
Along with Bryce Molder and Liam McCabe, who also won gold, the Aquaducks have one of the strongest group of male swimmers in recent memory making for a balanced medal threat
The Aquaducks continue to train in preparation for the provincial championships which will be held in Richmond, B.C. on August 19-20.
