Larry and Sherree Richet have been working very hard to get ready for the opening of Big Country Lanes-Family Bowling Centre in 100 Mile House.

They purchased The Bowling Alley on June 23 and started tearing up the rugs and throwing out furniture and other things to make their Family Bowling Centre brighter and fresher.

Larry gives Sherree all of the credit for all of the cleaning and making the centre sparkle.

Sherree also has a lot of aesthetic ideas to make the centre brighter, and Larry’s job is to bring her ideas to fruition.

A two-time Canadian Bowling Champion, Larry is in the Kamloops Sports Hall of Fame for his bowling. He is also a nationally certified coach/trainer.

He has been busy on the bowling side of the business at Big Country Lanes. Larry has re-floored the building, put in new carpet, sanded the alleys and approaches and installed new plastic gutters, which will be easier on bowlers’ personal bowling balls, and give the alleys a more modern look.

The Richets have brought in a Cubica Scoring System – the third in British Columbia – and bowlers are going to like the great graphics.

It will also show the ball speed, keep tabs of a bowlers scores and provide statistics player and team statistics for the leagues that will be up and running as the interest grows.

Big Country Lanes opened yesterday (Aug. 17), so folks are invited to drop by, bowl a game and meet the Richets.

Be sure to ask Larry about the leagues and what’s happening at the Family Bowling Alley.
