Quesnel resident Dave Erickson won the grand prize draw for a Chevy 350 crate engine at the Hot July Nights Car & Bike Show in 100 Mile House on July 11-13.

Stephen Almond, one of the event’s organizers, met Erickson at Central GM where Erickson picked up his prize on July 15.

Central GM is one of the event’s major sponsors and where the engine was purchased.

The engine retails at about $3,300, runs at about 300 horse power and “has chrome everything,” explains Peter Tonkin, another member of the Hot July Nights organizing committee.

“It’s probably the best motor to put in a small hot rod.”

Erickson won the draw prize available to about 200 entrants.

“Thanks to all our sponsors,” adds Tonkin. “Without them we don’t have a show.”
