The rainy weather didn’t hurt the attendance numbers as 98 archers competed in the Bighorn Archery Club’s Traditional Archery Shoot at 99 Mile Snowmobile Club Site on July 16-17.
Amongst the standard stationary targets, the club brought out its new Laporte target thrower for a novelty shoot competition.
There was a hunter novelty shoot, which was a separate course of 15 targets.
Fifty-three of the 98 archers participated in the event and the entry fee was put into a pot and half of it was claimed by the winner. There was a tie between Gil Davis from Moberly Lake and Jeff Maron from Chilliwack.
There was also a Bow Birds competition, which utilized the Laporte target thrower. The event was a hit and the thrower was used for several hours.
“The shooters got tired before the thrower broke a sweat,” says event organizer denise swift.
The main shoot was sponsored by TIMBER MART.
